Morning Announcements – Wednesday, December 10, 2014

1. Permission forms for our first trimester reward trip should be returned to the office. They are due no later than Wednesday, December 17, which is the day before the trip.

2. Good luck to our ball teams today in their make-up games with Brewer. The boys are home and the girls are on the road.

3. Talent Show audition slots are filling up. Please add your name to the sign up charts that are on the cafeteria windows in the main lobby.

4. 8th grade Garden Club will meet again this Friday in Mr. Ormsby’s room.

5. This is the last week that parents can order gift cards through the PTF fundraiser. You get the gift card and PTF gets a percentage of the money collected through the sale of each card. The purple order form will go home with students on Wednesday and needs to be returned with payment on Friday. Parents can also download the form from our school website: ems.ellsworthschools.org

6. This Friday is a K-8 Pajama Spirit Day.

7. This Friday is also the first PTF Family Movie Night of the year. The evening kicks off with a bake sale from 5:30-6:15. At 6:15, “The Polar Express” will be shown. Free popcorn will be provided. Families are to bring blankets to sit on and should bring their own drinks.

8. Monday night the JV Boys' team took a road trip to Dedham.
The Dedham team has no JV team so we played the big boys to the best of our ability. Dedham had three players that were stifling and very large compared to our JV boys. The big guys kept our scoring almost non-existent and held the Falcons to 6 points in the first half and kept us scoreless in the third quarter. The Falcons fell to 1-1 after losing the game 40-14.

9. The pet food drive continues through next week, December 12. There is a box in the main lobby where those who wish to donate can drop off these specific brands of food: Purina Cat Chow Complete (blue bag), 9 Lives canned cat food, Friskies Classic Pate, Purina Dog Chow with real lamb and rice (red bag), and Purina Dog Chow – Healthy Life Nutrition (green bag).

10. Raffle tickets for Isabelle the American Girl Doll and raffle tickets for a remote control helicopter and laser tag tanks are on sale in the front lobby each morning until 8:10. Tickets are $1 or 6 for $5. Proceeds to benefit the 8th grade class.
