ROBOTICS TEAM 1 NOTICE: RELEASE FORMS ARE REQUIRED FOR SATURDAY’S MEET – Robotics Team 1 members that are planning on coming to the track meet this weekend MUST turn in their Maine Robotics Release Form or they will not be able to participate on Saturday. Please get the form in.

JV PICTURES ARE TODAY – JV pictures will be taken today before our home games. Order forms are in the office if you still need one.

 

MARCHING BAND REHEARSAL IS TODAY – Beginner band and concert band students will be rehearsing together today and Friday mornings from 7:45-8:25AM to prepare for the Memorial Day Parade.

 

VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS SHOWCASE – Students who are in the Visual and Performing Arts Showcase on May 31 have rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:45-8:25 up until show date. Chorus students who are not in the Showcase are to report to homeroom right after dismissal from the gym.

 

TRACK MEET IN BREWER ON THURSDAY – Good luck to our track team. The meet this week is on Thursday in Brewer with a departure time of 2PM.

 

WALK-A-THON IS THIS FRIDAY – The 30th Annual Walk-A-Thon is set for Friday, May 19. Grades 5-8 will walk from 12-1PM. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the PTF, so your help in getting pledges will allow the PTF to continue to bring cultural events to EEMS. For every $5 you collect, your name will go into a raffle. The pledge form and raffle tickets must be turned in with the money you collect by Friday, May 26.

 

PARENT VOLUNTEER TRAINING SESSION THIS FRIDAY – This Friday, May 19, 7:30 - 8AM in the library is the last group training session for volunteers. Parents who want to help out during Field Days, Field Trips or other activities are encouraged to attend. If you can’t make this session, please call Tim McCluskey at 667-6241 ext. 2018 to set up an individual time to meet.

 

JV BASEBALL REPORT - The JV Baseball team traveled to Surry to play the Tigers yesterday afternoon. Runs were scored by both teams throughout the game. The Falcons found themselves down by one run leading into the last inning. With their backs against the wall, the Falcons scored 4 runs and then the defense held on to win. Great team play by all, working together and communicating allowed the team to get the ball to where it needed to go quickly. Solid hits by Michael Harris, Keegan Omlor, Drew Cote, Everett Huckins (with two hits), Spencer Merritt, and Will Hutchins. Scoring runs were Michael, Keegan, Drew Pierson, Riley King, Sam Wagenknecht, Drew C, Spencer, Tanner Seura, Aidan Gibbons and Will. Spencer and Tanner combined to strike out 8 Tigers, including 3 in the last inning. Great game boys! Up next is Cohen this afternoon.

 

Varsity and JV Softball Report - The Varsity softball girls brought there A game last night beating the Old Town Coyotes 13-7.  Excellent fielding plays by Abby Bland, Jaiden Scott, Laura Jude, Casey Carter, and Lexi Rossi,.  Great hitting all around; a ground rule double by Casey Carter; single by Sara Shea, Olivia Ringuette, and Tyler Hellum. Tyler Hellum continues to be a machine on the mound striking out 6 batters. Let’s get Cohen tonight!  Don’t forget it’s a food stop!!

 

The JV softball team continues to be undefeated, beating the Surry Tigers 14 – 4 in 5inning.  The girls have continued to be force to reckon with on the field, on the bases, and at bat. Alex Bivins had another outstanding pitching game striking out 11 batters. Grace Gumpp had an amazing catch in the infield, Hannah Wagstaff also had an amazing tag in the infield, Layla Pickering and Fiona Allen had a putout at second stopping the steal.  Talia Robbins, Grace Gumpp, Morgan Clifford, Fiona Allen and Bailey Clarke all had singles.  Alex Bivins had double with 2 RBI’s.  Let’s continue this streak and get Cohen today!!
