Due:

Students are working on a research project that finds them picking a Health related topic and doing some research about the topic. The first part of the project (lesson helper #7 research) is an organizer to help sort information found. They should complete this first, as it will help them with the other parts. The second part of the project (lesson helper #8 outline) is an outline for their visual presentation. This part will help organize the information found into main points for their visual presentation. The third part of the project is a visual presentation. This can be done in many ways. A digital format (google slides, powerpoint, keynote, etc.) including pictures and the information they included on part 2 is a great way to go about this part. Some students may prefer to create a poster for their visual, which is also a good way to get their information seen. The last part of this assignment is to present their project verbally to a small group of classmates. Each of the first 3 parts are formatives while the presentations are summatives.

Due:

Students were given a study guide to help get themselves ready for their test coming up. The dates of the test are listed as the due date. The study guide needs to be completed and turned in prior to taking the test as part of their formative grades.

Due:

Students need to pick a topic within the subject of Health and do some research. They can use the internet as a research tool or use books and magazines. As they do the research, students should be filling in the attached pdf (which they were given in class). In the source box, they should enter the actual website they got the information from, not the search engine (Google, Yahoo, etc.). In the main points box, students should briefly describe some important information about their topic. In the smaller summary box, students should summarize the main points from that source. In the larger summary box, students should summarize all of the points and how they relate to their topic.

Due:

Students are being asked to get a composition notebook or a one subject notebook to use and leave in the Health room. Students will be using in every health class to answer a weekly question as an informal way to check student understanding of material.

If, for any reason, a student is unable to get a composition notebook, please let Mr. Downs know via email and other arrangements will be made for those students.
