Ellsworth Elementary Middle School

Response to fire alarm on 10-25-13

The fire alarm went off this morning at about 9:10AM and the entire school handled the situation like any other fire drill. Everyone exited in a calm manner and was quickly accounted for. The Ellsworth Fire Department arrived in a blink and determined that the problem was in a maintenance room due to a water pressure problem in the sprinkler system. Workers are arriving this afternoon to fix that problem. Students and staff were outside for about 20 minutes before we were given the all clear to return to classes. It was great to see that our practice paid off in a real event. Well done, students and staff!
