Welcome to 2015!

1. Show Choir meets today, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week from 3-5PM in the elementary music room.

2. Winter Running Club starts tomorrow. Permission forms are in the office. Each session ends at 3:45, which is when students are to be picked up.

3. Our next Activity Night is this Friday. The grade 5 Activity Night runs from 4-6PM with an entry fee of $3. The grades 6-8 Activity Night runs from 6:30-9PM with an entry fee of $5. Grade 6-8 students from other towns may attend.

4. Also on Friday will be a Spirit Day. Since it’s winter, please wear WHITE.

5. There is no chess meet this week. The next meet is on Tuesday, January 20.

6. Tomorrow is the mid-season grade check for winter sports athletes. Athletes who are not passing a subject will be on academic probation for two weeks, which means they can’t play in games, but can participate in practices.

7. One week from this Friday is the school finals of our annual Spelling Bee, and the following week it’s the school finals of the annual Geography Bee. You will be having homeroom rounds for these two events over the next couple of weeks.

8. We wish our JV boys and varsity girls well in today’s home basketball game with Dedham. There is also a home game this Thursday as our boys’ JV and boys’ varsity teams take on Emerson.

9. The JV and varsity girls’ basketball teams rang the New Year in here at school with an overnight party. Pizza, movie, basketball shooting competitions, bingo, 3 on 3 play, chariot racing, and more. At midnight, after watching the ball drop, the girls had midnight madness with basketball games until 1:00 am. Hope you had a good time girls. Thanks to the chaperones who helped make it possible.
Today we play the first game. We will be joined by two of the players from Mr. Stackpole's team.

10.Thanks to all of the participants in the Talent Show that took place right before vacation. The top 5 acts had an average score of at least 8 out of a possible 10 points, based on the scores from the 40 judges. Fifth place goes to Sam Updike for singing and playing his guitar on “Blackbird” and “Back to School.” Fourth goes to Taylor Richardson for singing “Middle of Starting Over”. Just 37 hundredths of a point separated our top three performers. Collecting the $10 third prize is Aurora Haslam for singing “Jar of Hearts”. Collecting the $35 second prize is Caitlin McCullough for singing and playing her guitar on “Let It Go.” Collecting the $50 first prize is Matt Reid for singing “Don’t Stop Believing.”
