MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS – Grades 5-8, Thursday, March 2, 2017


BOYS’ BASKETBALL AWARDS NIGHT IS TONIGHT – Both the JV and Varsity Boys Basketball teams are holding their awards night this Thursday, March 2 at 5:30PM in the small gym.


NEXT GARDEN TEAM MEETING IS TODAY – The next Garden Team meeting is this Thursday (tomorrow) from 3-4PM in the library.


JAZZ BAND COMPETES AT 11:30 AT BREWER COMMUNITY SCHOOL TOMORROW – Good luck to our jazz band at your District Jazz Festival this Friday at the Brewer Community School. Your performance time is at 11:30. You will leave EEMS after the 8:30-9:10 class. You will be back in time to catch the 1:35 bus.


FOUR EEMS STUDENTS TO COMPETE IN TOMORROW’S SKILLS USA COMPETITION – Tomorrow morning, Sara Shea, Autumn Paul, Maddie Henry, and Noe Burmeister will be at the United Technology Center in Bangor to compete in the interview event of the Skills USA competition. We wish them well in this first-ever appearance by EEMS students in the Skills USA competition, which is expanding from the high school level to include middle school students.


CHEERLEADERS TO PERFORM COMPETITION ROUTINE TOMORROW – This Friday during the reward block, we will get to see our cheerleaders perform their routines during the Reward Block at 1:10. Cheerleaders will need to be dismissed at 12:30 to get ready and to move the mats. Our JV cheerleaders will then be competing at the competition we are hosting here that night and our varsity team will perform a showcase.


ROBOTICS CLUB “TEAM 2” STARTS NEXT TUESDAY, MARCH 7 – The first session for Robotics Club – Team 2 starts next Tuesday, March 7. Students will report to the grade 7 science lab once school is out and each session will go until 4PM. Sessions will continue each Tuesday.


INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL PLAYERS ARE NEEDED – We need more players to get our intramural basketball program going. If you’d like to play, please get a permission form from the office of from Ms. Small. We’d like to start next Tuesday.


MARCH MADNESS RAFFLE UPDATE – Yesterday’s winner of 10lbs of frozen blueberries and a $10 Dunkin Donut Gift Card was Danny Gray. Additional winners will be picked each day this month.


HANCOCK COUNTY FOOD DRIVE RUNS ALL MONTH. – If you can bring in a food item for the Hancock County Food Drive, it would be greatly appreciated. There are 30 more days of prizes to win!


8TH GRADE BABY PICTURES WANTED – The Yearbook Club will be collecting baby pictures of 8th graders throughout the month of March. We are looking for 100% participation, so please bring in a picture.


HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES – For this first week in March we send Happy Birthday Wishes to these students: Haley Doyan, Jaxson Wallace-DeJulio, Faith Doherty, Alexander Boudreau, Roman Barrett, Solomon Barrett, Leanne Casin, Abigail Mazgaj, and Manny Gardner. Happy Birthday!
