K-5 ASSEMBLY TOMORROW – Our 5th graders will enjoy learning from author Kim Ridley tomorrow morning at 8:15AM in the cafeteria. The K-5 assembly will last about an hour and is put on by our PTF.

INTRAMURAL SOFTBALL TOMORROW – More players are needed to get Intramural Softball going. We need at least 16 players and have about half of that. The first session will hopefully be tomorrow if enough players bring back permission forms. Pick up time is at 4:15PM.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP CEREMONY TOMORROW - Those students who received notification that they are receiving a $100 scholarship are reminded that the ceremony recognizing their effort is tomorrow at 6:30PM in the cafeteria.

SIGN UP BY THIS FRIDAY FOR VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS SHOWCASE - The first Visual and Performing Arts Showcase is coming to EEMS on Wednesday, May 31.  Students who wish to perform along with our Art Show and VPA awards should sign up for an audition in the music room by Friday, May 12.  Performances can be music, theater, or dance.  See Mr. Smith or Mrs. Kellogg for more information.

WALK-A-THON A WEEK FROM FRIDAY – The 30th Annual Walk-A-Thon is set for Friday, May 19. Grades 5-8 will walk from 12-1PM. This is the biggest fund raiser of the year for the PTF, so your help in getting pledges will allow the PTF to continue to bring cultural events to EEMS. For every $5 you collect, your name will go into a raffle. The pledge form and raffle tickets must be turned in with the money you collect by Friday, May 26.

VARSITY BASEBALL TEAM REPORT - The Falcons traveled to Bangor last night and came home with the win! Michael Palmer and David Baugh combined pitching for a 1-0 shutout against Doughty. Craig Burnett singled and knocked in the only run of the game. Nathan Smith and Chase Crossman also contributed with one hit each. Great job to all the boys!

JV BASEBALL TEAM REPORT - The JV baseball team played a strong team from Doughty yesterday afternoon. The Falcons found themselves down by a pair of runs in the first inning but kept playing solid defense and working hard. Keegan Omlor, Tanner Seura and Michael Harris all battled on the mound. Everett Huckins forgot that it was baseball while tagging a Doughty player out at the plate. Michael Harris led the way offensively by scoring a pair of runs and getting two hits while Sam Wagenknecht, Everett, and Spencer Merritt all had a hit apiece. Great defensive play in the outfield by Riley King, Will Hutchins, Aidan Gibbons, Kris Foskett and Caleb Leathers. I think Mother Nature was helping out Doughty because just when the Ellsworth bats were starting to come alive, the rain starting coming down in buckets. Keep working hard boys. Great game!

ACTIVITY NIGHT RESCEDULED – Due to Friday’s ball games at Emerson, the last Activity Night of the year has been moved to Friday, June 2.

LAST VOLUNTEER TRAINING SESSION – With field days and field trips coming up, there will be one last parent volunteer training session for parents who want to help at those events. The training date is 7:30AM on Friday, May 19 with Mr. McCluskey. If you can’t make that session, please give him a call at 667-6241 ext. 2010 to set up a time to come in for individual training.
