K-5 ASSEMBLY TODAY – Our 5th graders will enjoy learning from author Kim Ridley this morning at 8:15AM in the cafeteria. The K-5 assembly will last about an hour and is put on by our PTF.


INTRAMURAL SOFTBALL TODAY – The first session of Intramural Softball take place today. Pick up time is at 4:15PM.


COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP CEREMONY TONIGHT - Those students who received notification that they are receiving a $100 scholarship are reminded that the ceremony recognizing their effort is tonight at 6:30PM in the cafeteria. Pizza will be provided.


SIGN UP BY TOMORROW FOR VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS SHOWCASE - The first Visual and Performing Arts Showcase is coming to EEMS on Wednesday, May 31.  Students who wish to perform along with our Art Show and VPA awards should sign up for an audition in the music room by Friday, May 12.  Performances can be music, theater, or dance.  See Mr. Smith or Mrs. Kellogg for more information.


WALK-A-THON A WEEK FROM TOMORROW – The 30th Annual Walk-A-Thon is set for Friday, May 19. Grades 5-8 will walk from 12-1PM. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the PTF, so your help in getting pledges will allow the PTF to continue to bring cultural events to EEMS. For every $5 you collect, your name will go into a raffle. The pledge form and raffle tickets must be turned in with the money you collect by Friday, May 26.


SOFTBALL GAME REPORTS FROM TUESDAY - Seven flawless innings of defense led the Varsity Softball team to Victory over the Doughty Bulldogs 18 – 1.  Tyler Hellum threw 13 strikeouts.  Our patience at the plate drew 13 walks and 9 hits; singles by Casey Carter, Olivia Ringuette and Jane Wu; doubles by Sara Shea, Jane Wu, and Tyler Hellum; triples by Casey Carter and Olivia, Ringuette and a homerun by Sara Shea.   Be ready for Conners-Emerson on Friday. 


The JV girls continue to be on fire beating the Doughty Bulldogs 19 to 0.   Hannah Wagstaff continues to be a machine on the mound with 14 stikeouts. Great patience at the plate led to 19 walks and 8 hits; singles by Bailey Clarke, Morgan Clifford, Layla Pickering, Alex Bivins, and Mariah Rossi; doubles by Hannah Wagstaff and Layla Pickering.  Great jobs playing ladies!  Let’s get the Surry Tigers on Tuesday, May 16th!
