Morning Announcements – Wednesday, September 6, 2017


  1. Open House is TODAY for grades 5-8. Grades 5 and 6 meet 5:30-6:30PM. Grades 7 and 8 meet 6:30-7:30PM. Parent meetings in the cafeteria: 5:30 for grade 5, 6:00 for grade 6, 6:30 for grade 7, and 7:00 for grade 8. Laptop meeting for parents of 7th and 8th graders is at 7:30PM in the cafeteria. THANKS!!!


  1. Soccer tryouts are at Wilson Field today and tomorrow for students in grades 6-8. You must have your permission form in order to try out. Girls try out first from 3-4:30 and boys try out from 4-5:30. On Thursday, boys go from 3-4:30 and girls from 4-5:30PM. A bus will take the players to Wilson field at 3:45PM. Pick up is at Wilson Field. Students with the 4PM practice are to report to Mr. Down’s health room to be supervised until departure time.


We will still have tryouts if it rains. Both boys and girls will try out indoors from 3-4:30 at EEMS.


  1. Cross-County begins today for students in grades 5-8 and will run from 3-4:30PM. Please bring your permission form.


  1. 6-8 Band Begins Tomorrow – Students in grades 6-8 who are interested in joining band will have their first rehearsal tomorrow (Thursday) from 1:50-2:30. Please bring your instrument.


  1. The first Garden Team meeting is this Thursday from 3-4 in the library. All staff are welcome to attend.


  1. 5-8 Chorus will begin next Tuesday at 7:45AM and will run on Tuesday and Thursday mornings throughout the year.


  1. Fall Sports Parent Meeting – Monday, Sept. 11 at 6PM in the gym for parents of cross-country runners and soccer plays. Parents whose child is going to do both sports will meet at 5:45PM.


  1. Drama Club Tryouts – Tryouts for the fall play take place next Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 11 and 12, from 3-4:30 in the cafeteria for interested students in grades 5-8. Permission forms are available today at lunch.


  1. Nice Job! – Thanks for a great opening day yesterday. Lunch and recess ran smoothly, and I appreciate all of the recess balls getting put back in the barrel. You were attentive and respectful during the assembly, which is also appreciated. Keep up the great work.
