Morning Announcements – Thursday, October 19, 2017


  1. We will have a hat day tomorrow. Students who want to wear a hat will pay $1. The money collected will be sent to help students in need Puerto Rico, which was devastated by Hurricane Maria. There will be a roster in each room tomorrow morning for reps check off who paid to wear a hat. Reps are to then bring the money to the office.


  1. The Scholastic Book Fair is being held today until 3PM.


  1. The K-8 Tulip planting day is today. The schedule for planting is in the weekly memo. Please come out at your appointed time.


  1. Our October Activity Night is tomorrow Friday the 20th. Grade 5 has theirs from 4-6PM with an entry fee of $3. Grades 6-8 has theirs from 6:30-9PM with an entry fee of $5. Students from out of town may attend the later event. Grade 8 parents are running this activity night to earn money for end of year events for grade 8 students.


  1. Parent-Teacher Conferences are on Monday, October 23 and Thursday, October 26 for grades 5, 6, and 7. Grade 8’s second night is Monday, October 23. Information about conferences comes from your child’s homeroom teacher.


  1. Halloween Costume Contest – Students are reminded that we will have a costume contest with cash prizes on October 27. Students are allowed to dress in costume for the day, but they can’t wear masks until the contest begins.


  1. Good luck to our soccer teams today in their games against Hermon. Both varsity teams are home with boys playing first. JV boys are away at Hermon and there is no dinner stop. JV girls don’t have a game today.


  1. Good luck to our cross-country runners today in their final meet of the season at Blue Hill. It’s the Coastal Division Championship Meet!


  1. Happy Birthday wishes for this week go out to Elizabeth Kohr, Spencer Hamby, Kaela Springer, Kiera Springer, Noah Young, Ocian Perez, Anthony Foster, and Madisyn Page. Happy Birthday to all of you!
