Morning Announcements – Friday, June 8, 2018, Grades 5-8
 
1. Today is grade 5’s Colonial Day. Thanks for dressing up in colonial attire and for making food that would have been eaten in our country over 200 years ago.
 
2. Today is the Teacher Reception put on by 8th graders in the cafeteria at 2PM. 8th graders who are staying, please come up to the cafeteria once you are dismissed at 1:35PM. I’ll meet with those students who signed up to help out in the health room during RTI.
 
3. Yearbooks will continue to be sold at lunch until we are sold out. The cost is $23 each.
 
4. Permission forms for the Trimester 3 Reward Trip to Pirates Cove are to be returned to the office.
 
5. Drama Club will perform “Willy Wonka” for grades 5-8 this morning. Please come to the cafeteria at about 8:15AM. The show will be performed for the pubic on Saturday at 2PM and 6PM. Entry fee for the Saturday performances are $5.
 
6. Next Tuesday citizens of Ellsworth get to vote on the school budget for 2018-19. Thank you for taking the time to vote.
 
7. Our annual end-of-the-year Garden Pot Luck takes place next Wednesday from 4:30PM-6:30PM. There will be food, a live band (“Bee Parks and the Hornets - indie pop rock”), a stamp scavenger hunt with prizes to those who fill out their stamp card, face painting, plant sale, worm bin, Maine Coast Sea Vegetables display, and more.

4th – an appetizer, fruit, or snack
 
8. Our annual Medieval Faire takes place next Thursday. Students will be able to visit the Faire during the day. If you bring some money, you can take part in some of the games and make purchases at the various guilds. The Faire will also be open to the public in the evening from 6-7:30PM.
 
9. Summer Watering Needed – If there are parents and students who would like to help with watering our gardens this summer, please get in touch with our garden coordinator, Mary Michael-Billings at mbillings@ellsworthschools.org. This is great time for students to get some community service hours.
 
10. Coaches of the Ellsworth Football League would like to meet with 6th and 7th graders interested in playing football today. Please report to the library for that meeting at 1:10PM. If you have work to do in class, then please ask a friend to get information for you.
