I am one of the two 8th grade Math and Science teachers at EEMS. The 2016-17 school year is my 17th year in education and my 15th year teaching in Ellsworth. I have graduated from The University of Maine-Orono with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics in 2000, and received my masters in Education with a concentration in Middle Level Education in 2009.
I have also participated as a part of the Maine Physical Sciences Partnership. As a member of the PSP, I have participated in two curriculum selection task forces, summer curriculum training, presented at the PSP Summit, and participated as a member of the leadership team. I have also been a participant in the PSP Leadership Academy training, aimed at improving teacher leadership in science around the region. As a part of this academy, I facilitated and helped lead the Elementary Sciences Partnership’s Curriculum Evaluation Task Force. As a member of the PSP, I also had the opportunity to attend the 2013 NSTA National Conference, where I was a presenter for 2 sessions.
