City of Ellsworth Broadband Committee Seeking Input on Broadband Roadmap and Strategic Plan

ELLSWORTH, Maine -- The City of Ellsworth’s Broadband Committee invites Ellsworth’s residents and businesses to review and comment on the City of Ellsworth Broadband Roadmap and Strategic Plan.  The Plan is a culmination of data and information gathering efforts initiated by the Broadband Committee over the past year, including a Citywide survey and interviews with various stakeholders.  It establishes a broad vision and goals for broadband within the Ellsworth community, evaluates the current state of broadband in Ellsworth, and considers paths to move forward with potential broadband expansion in the City.

As important as citizen participation in the Citywide survey was, providing comments on the strategic plan is equally valuable as this feedback will be relayed to the City Council.

A digital copy of the Plan is located on the City’s website, at the following web address - https://www.ellsworthmaine.gov/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/06-06-2022-Broadband-Roadmap.pdf.  A hard copy is available for review at Ellsworth City Hall in the City Clerk’s Office.  Hard copies can also be made available for pick-up upon request.  The Committee asks that all comment please be submitted no later than 5pm on Monday, August 8th.  Written comments can be submitted in-person at City Hall; mailed to 1 City Hall Plaza, Economic Development Office, Ellsworth, ME 04605; or emailed to jrichards@ellsworthmaine.gov.
