ELLSWORTH - For the first time ever, Ellsworth School Department will be offering transportation from the Blue Hill peninsula to Ellsworth High School for any School Union 93 students beginning this fall!

Through our partnership with School Union 93 and after increased requests from parents, a bus will transport students between Tradewinds in Blue Hill (15 South St.) and Ellsworth High School each school day.

The bus will pick students up in the morning at 6:40 a.m. sharp at Tradewinds, and if there is a need, the bus will then stop at the intersection of Atlantic Lane and ME-172 in Surry** prior to dropping students off for school. In the afternoon, the bus will pick students up at Ellsworth High School after dismissal and drop them back off at the same locations.

For Hancock County Technical Center students, students may take the bus from the peninsula to Ellsworth High School in the morning, and then get on the HCTC bus from there!

“We are excited to offer this opportunity to our many families from the peninsula,” Superintendent Amy Boles says. “This has been requested and talked about for many years. We are indebted to Head Bus Driver Mike Cummings and his staff for making this come to fruition behind the scenes.”

The bus will be available to all School Union 93 students who are enrolled at EHS and able to get to the pick-up locations.

Our full bus schedule can be found on our Transportation page!
